Safe drinking water and clean latrines.
Together with our partner organization ZOA, our emergency aid supports the people in the Al-Dhale district. We work with the community to build latrines for very low income families and two schools, and we organize hygiene training sessions.

Safe latrines
The 200 most vulnerable families in the village communities are selected. Together with them, safe latrines are built close to their homes. This means that women can also feel safe when using them.

Health for schoolchildren
Gender-segregated latrines at schools
At two schools, gender-segregated latrines are being constructed. A local company is hired for the project, creating jobs. The facilities will be connected to a water source so children can wash their hands.

Know-how
Hygiene training sessions
Three women and three men from the village communities are being trained as hygiene coaches. They teach neighbors and school children the importance of proper handwashing and how hygiene can prevent illnesses.
