Schools and youth groups

We’re bringing poverty into the spotlight. At “A Night Without a Roof” —our popular awareness-raising event—children and teens get a firsthand look at what poverty can mean. Organize an experience with your school or youth group that will be remembered for a long time to come.

Night without a roof

Sensitization work in 3 steps

A night without a protective roof. Separated from wind, weather, light and disturbing noises only by thin cardboard walls. A unique experience that raises awareness of global poverty and guarantees an enjoyable group experience at the same time.
  • Experience

Experience is more important than information.

During a night spent outdoors, young people get a firsthand experience of what poverty means. To do this, they build themselves a shelter out of cardboard and tarps to spend the night in.

  • Input

Tips and tricks for more justice.

During an interactive input, the young people learn how they can work for more justice and less poverty in a very practical and realistic way.

  • Added value

    Thinking outside the box.

A night in a slum so that others don't have to: The young people are sponsored for their dispensable night and thus create new prospects for their peers in the Peruvian Andean highlands.

“A Night Without a Roof is one of the best awareness-raising programs available in Switzerland for children and young people. The experience makes a huge difference.”
