Empowering others
Sometimes the most precious gifts are the ones that can’t be wrapped. Give girls like Lamia the hope of a life free from coercion and greater self-determination.
Sometimes the most precious gifts are the ones that can’t be wrapped. Give girls like Lamia the hope of a life free from coercion and greater self-determination.
As a minor, Lamia was to be married—out of necessity, not love. Lamia’s dream of a future of her own was in danger of shattering before it had even begun. But thanks to a goat, her fate took a turn for the better.
Thanks to an animal husbandry training program offered by our partner organization SATHEE, she learned how to properly feed, care for, and keep her goats healthy. After successfully completing the course, she received her first goat. She cared for the animal diligently, and soon her small herd grew. The goats provided the family with an income, brought stability, and enabled her to return to school—the planned marriage was called off.
ena’s women’s empowerment project gives girls in Bangladesh hope for a future free from financial hardship. They continue to attend school and receive training in essential skills—whether in animal husbandry, vegetable farming, or tailoring. This enables them to earn their own income, support their families, and freely choose their own path.
In the regions where ena projects are active, around 80% of all forced marriages involving girls and children are prevented.
Women are strengthening their rights, protecting girls, reducing violence, and playing an active role in family planning. Training in animal husbandry, farming, and tailoring enables them to earn their own income.
We promote peaceful coexistence through human rights courses and health campaigns, and improve hygiene by installing new wells and latrines.
For children like Pauline, clean water can make all the difference—between going to schoolattendance instead of longlong long, between illness and good health.
Thanks to a new water line, 14-year-old Pauline no longer had to walk long distances to fetch water. She was able to attend classes regularly again. Today, she shares her knowledge as a hygiene expert with other children and teenagers and leads workshops on proper handwashing.
Pauline’s story is an example of how hope becomes a tangible reality in our projects: Together with our partner KDWSP, ena builds water pipelines and installs rainwater tanks. As a result, clean water is flowing to more and more villages—long walks are no longer necessary, children can go back to school, and families have more time to tend their fields. Training sessions on hygiene and health further ensure that, step by step, a better quality of life is created and people can lift themselves out of poverty.
19-year-old Ayda shows how much education can change - from the dream of one's own future to the step into professional life.
Thanks to a vocational school, a new chapter began for her: she learned to design hairstyles, create makeup looks, and build self-confidence. Today, Ayda works at a beauty salon and shows how education can open doors and give people freedom.
Her story is an example of how our projects work: Together with our local partner organization Paz y Esperanza, we support vocational training centers, improve their infrastructure, and train teachers in pedagogy and entrepreneurship. This gives young people like Ayda real prospects, qualified support, and the chance to start their professional lives with confidence.
