Independence for Lamia

As a minor, Lamia was to be married off - out of necessity, not out of love. Lamia's dream of a future of her own was in danger of being shattered before it had even begun. But thanks to a goat, her fate changed.

Thanks to animal husbandry training provided by our partner organization SATHEE, she learned how to feed, care for, and keep goats healthy. After successfully completing the course, she received her first goat. She took good care of the animal, and soon her small herd grew. The goats secured the family's income, provided stability, and enabled her to go back to school—the planned marriage was called off.

ena’s women’s empowerment project gives girls in Bangladesh the chance to shape their own futures. They continue to attend school and receive training in essential skills—whether in animal husbandry, vegetable farming, or tailoring. This enables them to earn their own income, support their families, and confidently forge their own path.

Get well soon, Pauline

For children like Pauline, clean water can make all the difference—between going to school and having to walk long distances, between illness and good health.

Thanks to the new water line, 14-year-old Pauline no longer had to walk long distances to fetch water. She was able to attend classes regularly again. Today, she shares her knowledge as a hygiene expert with other children and teenagers and leads workshops on proper handwashing.

Pauline’s story is an example of how our projects make a difference: Together with our partner organization KDWSP, ena builds water pipelines and installs rainwater tanks. As a result, clean water is now flowing to more and more villages—long walks for water are no longer necessary, children can go back to school, and families have more time to tend to their fields. Training sessions on hygiene and health further ensure that, step by step, a better quality of life is being established.

A future for Ayda

19-year-old Ayda shows how much education can change - from the dream of one's own future to the step into professional life.

Thanks to a vocational school, a new chapter began for her: she learned to design hairstyles, create makeup looks, and build self-confidence. Today, Ayda works at a beauty salon and shows how education can open doors and give people courage.

Her story is an example of how our projects work: Together with our local partner organization Paz y Esperanza, we support vocational training centers, improve their infrastructure, and train teachers in pedagogy and entrepreneurship. This gives young people like Ayda real prospects, qualified support, and the chance to start their professional lives with confidence.
