Make a difference with ena today: Together with you, this Swiss aid organization helps people reach their full potential—for a future full of opportunities.
In 2024, our projects reached not only nearly 200,000 people in total, but also their communities—in crisis-stricken regions, in remote villages, and in countries where hope is often in short supply. But behind every number is a person: a child on the way to school, a mother receiving medical care, a family that has food to eat again.
Courage changes lives. Behind every step people take when facing difficult circumstances, there is often a helping hand extended to them. As a Swiss aid organization, ena supports people in challenging situations with respect, compassion, and a deep belief in their potential.
ena was formerly known as TearFund Switzerland. Today, the new name reflects the same philosophy: that of a Swiss NGO that listens, understands, and provides support when people feel they have nowhere else to turn.
ena has been ZEWO-certified for nearly two decades. This certification ensures that donations are used for their intended purpose, are managed efficiently, and have a tangible impact. Our work combines rapid relief in acute emergencies with long-term project work—based on four pillars: education, health, livelihoods, and peace.
In Myanmar, for example, our partners not only provided emergency aid following a severe earthquake, but continue to assist with reconstruction efforts today, working alongside the local community. In small steps, but with a big impact. This is precisely the purpose we aim to serve as a Swiss aid organization.
Our work is certified by ZEWO, ISO 9001:2015, and the CHS Alliance. But what really matters is how we put these standards into practice: with care, compassion, and dedication.
We collaborate with local partners on 13 projects in 8 countries. We listen before we act. And we stay, even after the spotlight has long since moved on.
Thanks to our projects, more than 14,000 children and young people were able to attend primary or secondary school last year. Learning means growing—not only in knowledge, but also in self-esteem.
Even just CHF 20 can make a big difference. It may not be spectacular, but it’s effective—in the classroom, at a health clinic, or during a counseling session.
Our reports from Malawi, South Sudan, and Bangladesh aren’t about projects—they’re about people. Their stories give meaning to our work. Through them, we—as a Swiss aid organization—find purpose and impact around the world.
A humanitarian organization must not only work effectively, but also with empathy. ena is part of the global CHS Alliance and, as a Swiss humanitarian organization, works closely with the KOGE cooperation network. Our processes are rigorously tested, and our standards are high.
But what really matters is our focus on people—those who help and those who need help. Both require mindfulness and responsibility. That’s why it’s not just our certifications that count, but the attitude with which we approach our work every day.
Your donation will be used where it is needed most, whether it’s a one-time contribution or a recurring donation. And you can adjust your contribution at any time.
Thanks to our many years of experience and local partners, we are able to work in a targeted and efficient manner. Every contribution makes a difference.
Your donation is guaranteed by ZEWO and ISO certification. And it is transparent thanks to open communication.
It’s not just about providing aid; it’s about dignity, hope, and trust. Your support makes a difference. That is our promise as a Swiss charity.
ena does not view aid as a short-term intervention, but rather as a long-term partnership. Our projects are designed to empower people to take responsibility for their families, their villages, and their lives. Especially in regions with weak infrastructure or a lack of access to education, this support is often the only glimmer of hope.
When a Swiss aid organization builds a classroom in a remote village, or when teachers receive further training or medical professionals are educated, it changes more than just the present. It changes the future.
You can recognize Swiss aid organizations like ena by their commitment to maximum transparency and their global impact. ena provides emergency relief and is a driving force in sustainable development cooperation. With the ZEWO seal of approval, ISO 9001:2015 certification, and membership in the CHS Alliance, ena meets the highest standards. But the real difference lies in its personal approach: Behind every donation is a person. And this is exactly where ena comes in—with heart, mind, and impact.
